The House Sitting Company (www.housesitters.co.nz) is a matching service for homeowners wanting a reliable sitter to occupy their homes while they are away and to look after their pets. Our point of difference with others in this market is seven day per week access to our customer service representatives to help set up the sit and deal with any problems that might arise during the course of the sit. Unlike others, we also make extraordinary efforts to screen our sitters, and we insure our sitters against accidental damage to homeowner property. Customer Services Representative
RESPONSIBLE TO: Directors
JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for an outgoing, energetic person to pick up some of the sitter screening duties that are needed for our growing business. It will primarily involve interviewing and briefing sitters via Skype, helping them edit their on-line profiles and helping them navigate the Dept. of Justice background checking that we ask our sitters to undergo. Depending on the ability of the person we employ, those duties may expand into homeowner customer service and following up on homeowner and sitter leads generated through our website to market our services.
It would suit an outgoing, articulate, people-loving person who is set up to work from home; and is technically savvy enough to negotiate our web-based customer service management system. It is a part-time casual role involving (at least initially) approximately ten hours per week, from 5-7.30pm, on 3 or 4 of the working days. Some flexibility may be needed with respect to availability from time to time, to cover the duties of our other customer services representatives.
We operate nationwide with our head office in Tauranga. The preferred location for this person is Tauranga, so that we can provide support and supervision as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer service type role
- Thorough understanding of what we do
- Technology savvy and competent in Skype, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong written and oral English language communication skills
- Outstanding people skills
- An ability to work with clients whose first language may not be English
Responsibilities
- Interviewing potential House Sitters via skype
- helping sitters negotiate our subscription and vetting process
- Educating current sitters around their responsibilities
Hours of Work
Contract casual position – expected to be approximately 10 hours per week, primarily early evenings.
